Task 15 - Song Choice

Part 1 - Song Choice

went back,
I went back to your love, and I felt,
So many wrongs
That I wasted on you by the crowd,
And I called,
You called me and I whispered your name
I went home,
We stared blank to the pages I wrote,

Well, I just wanna compliment your soul,
I just wanna compliment your soul,
Yeah, I just wanna compliment-

And I wasted tears, I let go,
So many rights,
So many nights, that I come and I go.
I just wanna know, that you,
And I can't ever be,
Shut out.
You're meant to be.
And wrong, I'll
Tell it twice,

'Cause I just wanna compliment your soul
Yeah, I just wanna compliment your soul
I compliment your-...
I compliment your-...

Yeah, I just wanna compliment your soul
Yes, I just wanna compliment your soul
'Cause I just wanna compliment your (soul...)
I just wanna compliment-

Part 3 - Artist Profile

A British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (piano, trumpet, guitar, bass, drums, and organ among them), Dan Croll combines folk elements and classic Paul Simon-like melodies with electronic beats, African polyrhythms, and guitar hooks, giving his work a lot of varying sounds and dimensions. He was born July 18, 1990 in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, moving to Liverpool when he was 18 years old to attend the Paul McCartney-founded Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. While there, he won the national Songwriter of the Year award presented by the Musicians Benevolent Fund, and the attention the award generated eventually led Croll to sign with Turn First Records early in 2012. The label released a debut single, "From Nowhere," in the fall of the same year, with a second single, "Compliment Your Soul," arriving in the spring of 2013. His debut LP, Sweet Disarray, finally arrived in March 2014.

From doing this task, I have learnt a lot more about the artist, song and institution I am planning on basing my music video for. This will help me when it comes to distributing it. This is because I will need to know the artists target audience, how the institution works, and what the song's lyrics and themes are, so I can use these to full effect in my video.
